Same Group, Different Name
In December 2008, The Edinger Society voted to change its name to The Jung Society of Port Townsend.
We still have enormous admiration for Edward F. Edinger and his classical approach to Jung’s work, but Jung and his work are the central focus and we decided that our name should be changed accordingly.
The Edinger Society name, however, remains as the name of the long-standing Edinger Society Reading Group which is currently engaged in a slow, deliberate, careful reading of Jung’s “Aion”.
The Edinger Society Reading Group was fortunate to have guidance and direction from
Janet Dallett, Ph.D. who taught classes
on Jung’s Aion
at the C.G. Jung Institute in Los Angeles.
Janet Dallett was the Founding Analyst for the Edinger Society and what is now known as the Jung Society of Port Townsend
