How to Join
The Jung Society of Port Townsend
Suggested background for
members (Please note that these
are not requirements. If you would like to join us, we
strongly urge you to apply, even if you have not had the
recommended therapy or done all the reading.)
1. Have had 50 hours of either Jungian analysis or
depth-oriented psychotherapy with a qualified
practitioner.
2. Have read and digested Memories, Dreams,
Reflections plus one or more volumes of
Jung’s collected works plus one or more books by Edward
Edinger, Marie-Louise von Franz, or other classical Jungian
analysts.
3. Want to help make the study of classical Jungian
thought, as taught by Edinger, von Franz, and Jung himself,
available in Port Townsend and surrounding
areas.
The
Application Process
1. Write us a letter stating a) how you have – or have not
- met each of the above guidelines and b) why you want to
join the Jung Society. You can send your letter to:

2. We will then contact you for an interview by one or more
of our members.
3. If you are accepted, the first year will be a trial
period during which you and we will evaluate whether or not
we can work together productively.
Responsibilities and
Benefits of Membership
1. Members pay dues of $30/year.
2. Members may attend business meetings and help plan and
carry out learning groups, seminars, and other
events.
3. Members may become officers and board members.
4. Members may apply to participate in reading/learning
groups that the Society sponsors. These groups may
have their own separate requirements.
5. Members are eligible for fee reductions for seminars,
workshops, and other events sponsored by the Society.
6.
Members have the opportunity to meet and work together with
like-minded people on a Jungian path.
